Case Study - King Richards Vistor Centre

A fit for a King

Working to refurbish existing, and form new buildings, to create a visually impressive visitor centre at the location of the unearthing of Richard III remains. Supply and install bespoke oak staircase and handrails. Supply and install oak floating floor to entire first floor exhibition spaces. Decoration throughout. Supply and fit specialist suspended ceilings. Various bespoke joinery works such as oak window reveals.

Key Issues and Considerations:

  • Working to an incredibly tight programme. Including night working maintaining a 24hour presence on site.
  • High public interest in the project including frequent visits from a documentary team and local news crew.
  • Coordination and cooperation with other trades
  • Health and Safety
  • Very limited storage and room on site
  • Working in very close proximity to live council offices and public roads
